Container coatings prevent corrosion of containers exposed to the marine environment and maintain a beautiful appearance for a long time. Recently, as interest in the environment has increased, there is a growing demand for reducing the emission of volatile organic compounds (VOC) in the container manufacturing industry.
China, which accounts for 93% of container production worldwide, has implemented an environmental policy to apply water-soluble paints to cargo containers (dry cargo containers) produced throughout China starting April 1.2017.
KCC has been developing the Ecosil Superb Series, which is environmentally friendly and optimized for the container production process, after 5 years of steady progress in technology development in preparation for the conversion of the container paint to water-soluble.
The Ecosil Superb Series is an eco-friendly alternative to the existing oil based paint system. It can reduce about 85% of volatile organic compounds compared to oil based paints when applied to containers for cargo transportation.
KCC water-soluble container paint satisfies the most demanding container paint standards such as Institute of International Container Lessors (IICL) and China Container Industry Association (CCIA) Limitation.
